Saint Augustine Film Festival 2025

Celebrating its 15th anniversary, the Saint Augustine Film Festival (SAFF) will showcase 40 films from indie, international, local and regional filmmakers between January 9-12, 2025. This vibrant event will also feature a lineup of celebrities, exclusive parties, and premieres, all set against the historic backdrop of Downtown Saint Augustine.

SAFF badges go on sale Friday, November 22 at 10am and tickets for individual films go on sale Thursday, December 3 at 10am. Badges and film tickets will be sold exclusively online at www.staugfilmfest.com.

The four-day celebration of cinema will include notable screenings of the films “Queen of the Ring,” “Bob Mackie: Naked Illusion,” “The Shape of Things: The Dick Brewer Story,” and “Here’s Yianni!” “Queen of the Ring” is the true story of Mildred Burke, a female wrestler in the 1930s that dealt with sexism, misogyny and corruption to become the first woman athlete to earn a million dollars. “Bob Mackie: Naked Illusion” showcases the six-decade career of award-winning costume designer, Bob Mackie. “The Shape of Things: The Dick Brewer Story” tells the history of the colorful and controversial, legendary surfboard designer and builder, Dick Brewer. “Here’s Yianni” follows Yianni and Plousia who own a charming family diner by the beach in New Jersey, where Yianni is a convivial host.

The Saint Augustine Film Festival (SAFF) aims to enrich the cultural landscape of Northeast Florida by highlighting the artistic achievements of independent and foreign filmmakers. Through its diverse film selections and engaging events, SAFF offers unique insights into various cultures, the universal bonds of humanity, and the profound art of storytelling. In collaboration with SJC Cultural Events Inc., and supported by the St. Johns County Tourist Development Council, and the St. Johns Cultural Council, the festival underscores St. Johns County’s commitment to the ethos of “Culture Around Every Corner.” Founding sponsors Arnold and Barbara Grevior are joined by annual patrons Eileen and Jeff Schomburger, Jon Schwartz, and Sheila Kolesaire, along with many local businesses and private citizens.
